About Charlotte

Charlotte Briere-Edney is a talented broadcast journalist and TV presenter. A well-respected newsreader and reporter, she has huge experience covering a wide variety of stories.


Charlotte grew up in the bustling and vibrant heart of Camden Town in London, and maintains strong links with the area.

A talented linguist, Charlotte graduated from the University of Cambridge with First Class Honours in Spanish and Russian. She has lived and worked in both Madrid and Moscow, and also speaks fluent French.

She completed the prestigious Master’s course in Broadcast Journalism at City University in London, graduating with Distinction.

Charlotte began her career in journalism at Sky News HQ in west London, where she worked as a producer in the gallery at the forefront of breaking news. She went on to work on the cutting-edge Sky News digital team, creating bespoke content for a range of digital platforms.

Charlotte then moved to That’s TV, where she oversaw the network’s first TV station launch in Portsmouth. As well as being a senior onscreen reporter at the channel, she was the main anchor of That’s Solent’s flagship news magazine programme.

charlotte-briere-edney-presents-awardAlongside her news presenting role, in 2016 Charlotte produced and presented 14 episodes (39-52) of BBC factual entertainment show Digital Nation.

In addition, Charlotte consults on programming, formats and workflows for the That’s TV network. As Head of News and Strategy for the company and has coordinated the launches of eleven further local TV stations across the country and pioneered the development of a networked approach to newsgathering and programming.

She also does corporate commissions, has worked with advertisers, agencies and the RTS, presents awards and hosts ceremonies.

She currently works for ITV Border and is based in south-west Scotland.
